# Oracle News — Source Policy (v0) Journalistic integrity and source quality first. Model/ring overlays come later only if needed. ## Roles (not brand scores) | Code | Role | Use | |------|------|-----| | A | Record | Filings, statutes, regs, FOIA, transcripts, agency datasets, gazettes | | B | Named primary speech | Official accounts, on-record statements by parties to the event | | C | Witness / UGC | X, Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube eyewitness | | D | Independent analysis | Investigators / academics / Substacks with methods and links | | E | Establishment report | Wires and outlets — often carry A/B; also frame and omit | | F | Roundup / portal | Google News topics, Wikipedia current-events, assembly digests — **never a page root** | ## Three weights per citation 1. **Artifact** — strength of the thing itself (PDF filing > screenshot of a screenshot). 2. **Claim** — how far this citation may carry a truth-claim. 3. **Independence** — how many independent channels support the same atomic claim (echo ≠ independence). ## Establishment rule Quote the record they preserve; label the story they sell. If an E piece points at an A document, promote A to the spine and keep E as handling/commentary. ## Public rule Public platforms are tip and witness. They enter early as signals. They become spine only after provenance (original? who? when? where?) plus corroboration — or they stay on the page as disputed / unverified witness. ## Page must show - What is **established**, **disputed**, and **unknown** - Who wrote the record, what was kept back or later released, what is only claimed - Named sources (no floating “critics say” / “studies show”) - Revision history and reviewer steers ## Language Do not close questions with “debunked,” “misinformation,” or “conspiracy theory” in our voice unless quoting someone who used those words.
